A service marketplace designed to help users discover and book trusted local services — quickly, confidently, and without friction.

Sewa Guru

Overview

Sewa Guru is a local services marketplace connecting users with trusted providers across a range of categories. The brief was to create an experience that felt as simple as possible — one where a user lands, understands the offering, and reaches out to a provider without running into dead ends.

Our work focused on information architecture first. Before any visual design, we mapped out how different types of users would enter the platform — by category, by search, by recommendation — and built the navigation around those real entry points.

The result is a UI system built around clarity: clean listing cards, straightforward provider profiles, and a booking flow that stays out of the user's way. Every screen was designed to answer a question — 'Is this the right service for me?' — and move the user one step closer to taking action.

The Challenge

Service marketplaces are notoriously hard to simplify. The more categories and providers you have, the harder it becomes for a user to make a confident decision. Sewa Guru had the right services — the challenge was presenting them without overwhelming visitors. We needed to reduce decision fatigue, surface trust signals at the right moments, and make the path from discovery to booking feel obvious rather than laboured. On mobile, this was even more critical: users expect instant clarity, not a scroll marathon.

Our Approach

  • Designed a mobile-first layout with clear category-led navigation as the entry point

  • Built reusable listing and detail page templates so new service types could be added without redesigning

  • Placed trust signals — ratings, provider details, and response times — directly on listing cards, not buried in detail pages

  • Simplified the enquiry flow to three steps, reducing drop-off between interest and contact

  • Kept the UI visually lightweight so pages load fast even on slower mobile connections

Goals

  • Make service discovery simple and fast for first-time users

  • Create a scalable UI system that grows with new service categories

  • Improve enquiry and booking conversion rates, especially on mobile
